How did you and your husband meet?
We’ve actually known each other since we were young teenagers as we had some mutual friends which is how we were briefly introduced. There was always something special about Marko, and after talking online for a little while he gave me his number, instigating for me to reach out to him although I was too shy to call or message him. About 3 months down the track, I had just finished my University exams, and decided to head out for a few drinks with some friends to celebrate, which is when I finally built up the courage to contact him, and from there we went on a few dates and really hit things off. That was a little over 9 years ago now and we’ve never looked back.
How did he propose:
Marko proposed in one of my favourite places in Australia, the beautiful Hunter Valley wine region. (He knows the way to my heart – Great wine & food) He actually booked a surprise trip there for my birthday over the easter long weekend in April 2019 which was very clever because I didn’t expect a proposal at all. He said that he had booked an early dinner on the Saturday night for my ‘birthday’ and that he wanted us to take some photos at the rotunda inside our resort before the sunset and prior to heading off to the restaurant. It was only a short walk to the rotunda – and as we neared I noticed Marko smiling at me and getting excited and emotional and as I’ve looked ahead a violinist picked up his violin and started walking towards the both of us. That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a quick ‘photoshoot’ before dinner. The violinist was playing the song that we shared our first kiss (I feel so close to you – Calvin Harris), which was so thoughtful.
There was a rose petal and candle lit pathway leading into the rotunda that was embellished with beautiful white florals, romantic candles, warm catenary lights and huge letters saying “MARRY ME”. We walked in and that’s when he dropped on one knee and asked me to marry him. He really out did himself with that and put a lot of planning
into it which I’ll forever be grateful for.

What was your vision for your wedding day?
Our vision for our wedding day was for our closest family & friends to celebrate the love we have for one another and for the day to be a true representation of who we are as a couple.
Where did you look for your wedding inspiration?
Marko and I both have a very similar taste when it comes to style which to sum it up is simplistic with a great attention to detail. We both wanted to execute something that was timeless, elegant but also incorporate a sense of romance with a modern twist.
What drew you to choose imagehaus for your photography?
I was really drawn towards Henryk and his team’s images because I felt as though they captured moments so authentically especially beautiful raw moments which I really admired. When we met with Henryk back in May 2019, we felt so incredibly comfortable with him and we did not even have to think twice and knew we wanted Imagehaus to capture our special day.

What was your wedding planning journey like for you? How far out did you start planning?
Our wedding planning journey was somewhat of a rollercoaster ride, unfortunately due to covid-19 we had to postpone our much anticipated wedding not once but twice which saw our wedding date push back by 8 months . Although it was a very difficult time, we were extremely grateful to have one another which helped us work through all the obstacles and setbacks that came our way. In the end it was the most perfect and special day of our lives and we wish we could do it all over again We started planning our wedding straight after the proposal in April 2019 and were scheduled to originally get married in May 2020 – so approx. 12 months out.
What was the highlight of your wedding day for you?
This may seem cliché but the highlight of our wedding day would be when we saw each other at church after I had walked down the aisle. I was so excited to see my husband to be that once we held each other’s hands, we both just had the biggest smiles on our faces that continued throughout the day.
Is there anything you would do differently?
We wouldn’t change a thing, it was such a magical and memorable day for the both of us.

Is there any advice you would give other ImageHaus brides?
Don’t sweat the small stuff, enjoy every moment because everything will work out the way the universe intends it to be. Not everything on the day does go according to plan but remember to be present and just enjoy each others company because the day goes by so quickly so make the most of it. Marko and I felt as though we were in our own little bubble and despite how busy the day was no matter what happened we didn’t let anything phase us.
Put your trust in your pre-planning, your suppliers and your venue to make it the most memorable and beautiful day of your life.
